Pioneer Thiru S. Kumaraswamy is a part of our local history and has a definite place in the history of Tamil Nadu. By sheer dint of hard work, devotion, dedication, discipline and diligence, he emerged as a well known industrialist and entrepreneur in South Tamil Nadu. He successfully launched innovative enterprises in transport, electricity, agriculture, textiles and technical education. He was a true patriot and he trained technical man power to the Indian Army during 2nd world war. As the Principal of his own ITI, he provided 250 mechanics per month to the war field. His entrepreneurial vision was a great blessing and source of livelihood to thousands of people below the poverty line in Kanyakumari District.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination and Combined Medical Services Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Geologists’ Examination, Central Armed Police Forces (AC)
The agency’s charter is granted by the Constitution of India. Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the constitution, titled Services under the Union and the States, provide for a Public Service Commission for the Union and for each state.
